Plans changed again due to cancelled ferries, and so we got ourselves on an overloaded coach for a five-hour trip during which several people had to stand! If I never have to ride another coach or ferry again for the rest of my life, I'll be a happy man!

Back in Split we caught this speedy bad boy out to our final island of the trip...

Hvar! Another long and skinny one, 180 square kilometres in area with 12,000 inhabitants all up, and probably the most touristy island of the lot.

We arrived at sunset and taxied straight to the nearest camp site in the little town of Milna.

Milna is in its own little bay and is a great spot to escape the tourists.

The main street has several family-run restaurants. The owner of this one sat us down and brought out this big bastard that had just been caught earlier in the day by her husband and offered it to us. Hell yeah we said, and before long...

...out came a couple of these big seafood platters with poor fishy in halves on each! Damn that was yummy stuff!

The next day was our last full day, and we spent the first half of it swimming at a great little beach along the bay. It doesn't get much better than this! At least that's what I thought until some time later this gorgeous chick walked past and wandered along to the end of the beach, stripped right down to nothing but a pair of skimpy little bikini bottoms, jumped on in and swam right out to sea - awesome! Some time later she swam back again, and us three blokes just couldn't help but stare hahaha! I couldn't get a shot as I was in the water at the time - sorry guys ;)

The latter part of the day was spent wandering around the main city of Hvar (aptly name Hvar hehe). The city is home to about 4,000 people and has a reputation for being a real party town at night; unfortunately we didn't get a chance to see it. Regardless, it's a bloody nice place and well worth the visit.

Then it was off to the port on the other side of the island for yet another friggin' two-hour ferry back to Split that evening. How's that for sunset?! :)

Split also has a bit of nightlife itself evidently hehe ;)The plan to spend the night here was a belated one brought about by the unreliable ferry times, since we had an early-morning flight and didn't want to be stranded on some island and miss it! We managed to find accommodation in apartments again (similar to Plitvice) thanks to more help from the locals.

Hehehe. The Saffas were only able to spend five days with us, but it sure wore them out ;)

Despite everything this region went through just a little over a decade ago, it's a bloody great place to visit now and I highly recommend that you do! While going through security at Split Airport, Mo realised she'd left her Swiss army knife in her backpack and had to check it in last-minute. Not surprisingly, despite reassurances from airport staff, we made it back to Gatwick and her backpack didn't - I know the feeling hehe.

Wow - I never realised Croatia is soooooo beautiful! Better jump in a buy some nice, cheap water front real estate while you're over there babe. Something you can rent out. Its never too early to get into the market.
