The following day we all did a couple cycle tours - one in the country and one around the city.

Jake the Muss and the Tumeke Machine, hahaha! Us Kiwis are a funny bunch ;)

Jared and I screwed these bikes good and proper (we each lost our chain at least twice), and we were the only three in the group to find it amusing hehe ;)

We headed south out of town along the Amstel River, and got told all about windmills and how they were used back in the day - exciting. An elderly couple live in this one, tax-free in exchange for them maintaining it. This is the group on the cycle tour, none of whom had a sense of humour.

We continued south (I think) along the Amstel, screwing and racing the bikes all the way hahaha!

Surely that doesn't say "Beware of the dog"?!

Real men wear clogs ;)

We had biked to a farm that produces the yummiest cheeses we'd ever eaten, and also happens to produce clogs.

This Romanian fella told us all about making cheese...

And about clogs...

And then made a pair while we all ooo'd and ahh'd and took photos.

Nice!

Back on the bikes, we wound our way through a few country lanes, and Jared nearly hit someone in a mobility scooter head-on because he was busy filming something, and I was busy taking photographs so I never noticed it either hahaha!

Vondelpark, a big 120-acre public park just outside central Amsterdam. The locals love this place apparently - good spot to hang out and chill out and then tune out with a bit of the green stuff.

Amsterdam by night...
