We spent the second day in Monaco - the secon- smallest country in the world (after Vatican City in Rome, Italy - why that counts as a country I really don't know but there you go). Monaco is home to 30,000 all squeezed into just under two square-kilometres. This principality has its own flag, national holiday, and dialect. Apparently it has one of the world's highest concentrations of plain-clothes policemen and CCTV cameras (I thought the latter would be Britain!). Monaco is completely enclosed by France and, like Nice, it sits on the northern coast of the Mediterranean Sea. The shot above is looking over the port and the area of Monte Carlo in the distance.

Monaco is famous for its Formula 1 Grand Prix held each year around the city streets (spot the grid markings on the road).

Grand Prix paraphernalia.

Monaco is a notorious tax-free haven with many of Europe's richest businessmen, celebrities, sportsmen, and pricks having a part-time home here to avoid the tax man (hence the expensive cars and boats all over the show!).

Along the coast a bit from the hustle and bustle of Monte Carlo (and further along the F1 circuit) is a nice little beach with several bars and restaurants - great spot to chill out!

Not everyone appreciates seeing tourists wandering the touristy places in their skimpy little Speedos apparently.

South of the port up the hill in the area of Monaco Ville is the Palais du Prince (Prince's Palace), the official residence of the Prince of Monaco complete with canons and canon balls (because you just never know ;)

Monaco Ville also has several narrow and winding little streets - very cool spot.

Seafood (of all shapes and sizes) and plonk for dinner - gotta love the Mediterranean! :)

Monaco is also famous for its casino. Photography is not allowed inside, and on a Wednesday night it is pretty quiet inside anyway.

Parked outside are a myriad of expensive vehicles owed by high-rollers with too much moolah to throw around.

Check out this monster Rolls Royce - it's a 2.6-tonne Hyperion. Damn!

The port and Monte Carlo by night, as seen from the Prince's Palace.

Can I borrow a fiver?

Somewhere near the Casino.

No, the chick was a far better model ;)
- Aaron

Shame. Please note the chick sitting on the Grand Prix sculpture was intentionally trying to look like a dick - Aaron couldn't you have used the one of you?!
