Florida (and New York), United States of America (15 - 28 April 2007)
This map has our route around Florida marked in red (New York is below). Starting in Fort Lauderdale we headed south to Miami and the Florida Keys. We then headed back north to Homestead (for the Everglades), and up to Cape Canaveral before returning to Miami.
I had around five hours to kill in Newark between flights en route back to Edinburgh and so took a 30-minute train to Manhattan and rushed around to see as much as I could. I emerged from the train station at Madison Square Garden (1), and headed south to Ground Zero (2) and to see the Statue of Liberty (3). I then headed north (on the subway) to Times Square (4) and Central Park (5) before sprinting back to the train station.
